Apple is working on a smart ring that can be worn on a user’s finger to track their health metrics, according to the Korean publication, Electronic Times.
If true, that’s not particularly surprising as Apple has filed for, and been granted, multiple patents for an “Apple Ring,” and many of them involve features beyond health metric tracking.
For example, patent filing US 20230350503 A1 involves a ring device that could be used to interact with an Apple Vision Pro. Patent number 11,409,365 is for a ring that can be used alone or in pairs and work in tandem with an Apple Pencil. Patent number 11,360,587 is for an Apple Ring that could be used to control a Mac. And there are many more such patent filings and granted patents.
