Apple reportedly scoops up Asaii, a music analytics company

Apple has reportedly acquired Asaii, a music analytics company, according to Axios. The deal, which appears to be verified by employee LinkedIn profiles, was worth less than $100 million, the article adds, quoting an unnamed source.

Last month it was reported that Asaii was shutting its doors. The company did not say why it is shutting down, although with no prior rumors of funding issues, an acquisition is often the cause of such an abrupt announcement, noted the Musically website.

Here’s how Asaii describes (described?) itself: “Asaii is an automated machine learning A&R and music management platform. We build tools that make it easier to discover and develop talent. By aggregating and generating insights on the digital footprints of content and talent on the internet, we contextualize and create structure for music business folks.”
