Apple releases macOS Catalina 10.15.2, iPad OS 10.13.13, iOS 13.3.3, tvOS 13.3.3, watchOS 6.1.1

Apple has released macOS Catalina 10.15.2, iPad OS 10.13.3 iOS 13.13.3, tvOS 13.3.3, watchOS 6.1.1, and HomePod 13.3.

Here are Apple’s release notes for the Mac update:

The ‌macOS Catalina‌ 10.15.2 update improves the stability, reliability and performance of your Mac and is recommended for all users. This update adds the following features: 

‌Apple News‌ 

– New layout for ‌Apple News‌+ stories from The Wall Street Journal and other leading newspapers 

Stocks 

– Get links to related stories or more stories from the same publication at the end of an article 

– “Breaking” and “Developing” labels for Top Stories 

– Stories from ‌Apple News‌ are now available in Canada in English and French 

– This update also includes the following bug fixes and improvements: 

Music 

– Restores the column browser view for managing the music library 

– Resolves an issue that may prevent album artwork from appearing 

– Fixes an issue that may reset music equalizer settings during playback 

iTunes Remote 

– Adds support for using an ‌iPhone‌ or iPad to remotely control the Music and TV apps on a Mac 

‌Photos‌ 

– Resolves an issue that may cause some .AVI and .MP4 files to appear as unsupported 

– Fixes an issue that prevents newly created folders from appearing in Albums view 

– Addresses an issue where manually sorted images in an album may be printed or exported out of order 

– Fixes an issue that prevents the zoom-to-crop tool from working in a print preview 

Mail 

– Addresses an issue that may cause Mail Preferences to open with a blank window 

– Resolves an issue that may prevent using undo from retrieving deleted mail 

Other 

– Improves the reliability of syncing books and audiobooks to your ‌iPad‌ or ‌iPhone‌ through Finder 

– Fixes an issue where reminders may be out of order in the Today smart list in the Reminders app 

  • Resolves an issue that may cause slow typing performance in the Notes app.

  • You can install macOS Catalina 10.15.2 by going to System Preferences then Software Update.

Screen Time 

– New parental controls provide more communication limits over who their children can call, FaceTime, or Message 

– Contact list for children lets parents manage the contacts that appear on their children’s devices 

Apple News 

– New layout for ‌Apple News‌+ stories from The Wall Street Journal and other leading newspapers 

– Easily like or dislike stories with a tap 

Stocks 

– Stories from ‌Apple News‌ are now available in Canada in English and French 

– Continue reading with links to related stories or more stories from the same publication 

– “Breaking” and “Developing” labels for Top Stories 

This update also includes bug fixes and other improvements. This update: 

– Enables the creation of a new video clip when trimming a video in Photos 

– Adds support for NFC, USB, and Lightning FIDO2-compliant security keys in Safari 

– Fixes issues in Mail that may prevent downloading new messages 

– Addresses an issue that prevented deleting messages in Gmail accounts 

– Resolves issues that could cause incorrect characters to display in messages and duplication of sent messages in Exchange accounts 

– Fixes an issue where the cursor may not move after long pressing on the space bar 

– Addresses an issue that may cause screenshots to appear blurry when sent via Messages 

– Resolves an issue where cropping or using Markup on screenshots may not save to ‌Photos‌ 

– Fixes an issue where Voice Memos recordings may not be able to be shared with other audio apps 

– Addresses an issue where the missed call badge on the Phone app may not clear 

– Resolves an issue where the Cellular Data setting may incorrectly show as off 

– Fixes an issue that prevented turning off Dark Mode when Smart Invert was enabled 

– Addresses an issue where some wireless chargers may charge more slowly than expected

You can download the iPadOS and iOS updates by going to System Preferences > General > Software Update.

tvOS 13.3.3 adds a setting that lets you bring back the “Up Next” queue to your Apple TV Home screen. To change the setting, update to tvOS 13.3 Then, go into the Settings app. Select Apps, then select the TV app.

To download tvOS 13.3.3 on your Apple TV (if it doesn’t update automatically), launch the System menu via the set-top box and choose Software Update.

watchOS 6.1.1 doesn’t include any new features, but provides performance improvements and bug fixes. To install it, launch the Watch app on your iPhone and go to General > Software Update.

HomePod 13.3. It should be automatically via the Home app on an iPhone. If it doesn’t, you can do it manually by tapping on the house icon at the top right of the screen, then scrolling to Software Update.
