Apple posts 16 succinct “How to shoot on iPhone 7” videos

The cameras on the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are phenomenal, but many techniques needed to take professional-looking photos are beyond the skills of most iPhoneographers. Apple has posted a new web page that uses 16 short and to-the-point videos to give iPhone shooters a quick tutorial in how to master some common pro techniques. The “How to shoot on iPhone 7” page and videos can be viewed on iPhone — many of the videos are in portrait orientation — and they show just how easy it can be to achieve professional results.

The videos cover the gamut of iPhone 7 and 7 Plus techniques:

  • How to shoot a great portrait (highlighting iPhone 7 Plus portrait mode)
  • How to shoot a close-up
  • How to shoot a vertical Pano
  • How to shoot without a flash
  • How to shoot action
  • How to shoot a selfie with the timer
  • How to capture a unique angle
  • How to shoot stills while filming
  • How to shoot with street light
  • How to shoot a bold and simple image
  • How to shoot during golden hour
  • How to shoot a one-handed selfie
  • How to edit a selfie
  • How to shoot a sunset silhouette
  • How to shoot a group portrait
  • How to shoot a backlit subject

Apple really seems to understand how to get a point across. Rather than belabor the point, they show — literally in a matter of seconds — how to do use a new technique. A similar series on videography with the iPhone 7 would be a winner!
