Apple launched a web-only version of iWork that allows anyone to use Pages, Numbers and Keynote as long as they have an Apple ID. This online-only version is free, includes 1GB of storage and does not require the user to have an Apple device.
Our take on the news:
Kelly:
Brillant move by Apple to increase usage of iWork for iCloud by opening it up to people who may not have an iPhone, iPad or Mac. I will recommend it to my friends and family as a free alternative to Microsoft Office.
Dave:
Also, this will introduce a lot of people who previously didn’t have Apple IDs to iCloud and the company’s ecosystem in general. A good move.
