Apple increases cellular download limit for iPhones and iPads

As noted by 9to5Mac, Apple has increased the cellular download limit for iPhone and iPad that prevents users from downloading large files from Apple’s stores, including apps, games, video podcasts, iTunes Store films and more.

It’s been increased from 150 MB to 200 MB. This means users can now download more apps and games over cellular networks.

Of course, 200MB still isn’t that much storage. Here’s a workaround that I think will work:

If you try to download an app bigger than 200MB, the app icon will appear on your home screen until you connect to Wi-Fi. When the icon appears, open the Settings app on your iOS device. Navigate to General > Date & Time, and toggle “Set Automatically” to off.

Tap the Date and move the date forward by 2-3 days.then tap General again. Once the App Store dialogue pops up asking you to Retry the download, select that option and you will now notice that the application downloads over a cellular data connection.

After you’ve adjusted the date, you may have to wait before the download is initiated.
