‘Apple Glasses’ will purportedly have the ability to scan people’s irises

The rumored “Apple Glasses” — an augmented reality/virtual reality device — is expected to have the ability to scan the irises of people wearing the headsets so they can quickly log into their accounts simply by putting the devices on their heads, reports The Information (a subscription is required to read the entire article).

The article, quoting two unnamed “people who helped develop the Apple headset,” says the capability will make it easier for multiple people to use the same device and allow them to quickly make payments inside the headset, just as iPhones allow people to confirm payments using scans of their fingerprints or faces. The Information also says that Apple Glasses will be lighter and have a much different design than the new Meta Quest Pro. The former looks like a plastic visor, but the latter will purportedly use mesh fabric, aluminum and glass.

About Apple Glasses

When it comes to Apple Glasses, the rumors are abundant. Such a device will arrive in mid-to-late 2023. Or maybe 2024. It will be a head-mounted display. Or may have a design like “normal” glasses. Or it may be eventually be available in both. The Apple Glasses may or may not have to be tethered to an iPhone to work. Other rumors say that Apple Glasses could have a custom-build Apple chip and a dedicated operating system dubbed “rOS” for “reality operating system.”
