Apple Daily Report: Launch day supply of iPhone Xr models sold out (and more news)

Since Steve and I can’t cover everything, at the end of each week day, we’ll offer this wrap-up of news items you should check out.

According to AppleInsider, late Monday Apple sold out of launch day iPhone Xr units in the U.S. Orders placed through the company’s online storefront now showing estimated delivery dates pushed out to November.

After opening branches in London and Los Angeles, Apple has opened a New York studio for its Beats 1 crew, as noted by Fast Company. The studio is located in Manhattan’s Union Square. 

In a note to clients — as noted by MacRumors, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo made his predictions about what Apple will unveil during its Oct. 30 media event, as well as offering some prognostications on other products that we might see from the tech giant in late 2018 or early 2019. 

Recent Federal Communications Commission policy changes intended to speed 5G adoption has reopened old wounds for some state and municipal governments that feel they’ve lost ground during the Trump administration on issues ranging from local infrastructure decisions to net neutrality protections, according to Law360.

During his keynote speech today at the Jamf User Nation Conference in Minneapolis, IBM CIO Fletcher Previn announced that IBM is going to open source its Mac@IBM code.
