Apple Daily Report: Google slapped with $5 billion fine, more

The European Union’s competition enforcer on Wednesday slapped Google with a record €4.3 billion ($5 billion) fine for abusing the dominance of its Android mobile phone operating system, the second massive fine levied by the bloc against the U.S. search giant for violating the bloc’s antitrust rules.

Apple’s new 15-inch MacBook Pro can be upgraded to include a 6-core 2.9GHz Intel Core i9 processor that has demonstrated impressive performance, but a YouTuber named Dave Lee is warning customers away from purchasing it with claims that the laptop’s chassis can’t provide sufficient cooling for it to run at full speed. 

Apple has again expanded its line of self-driving cars, registering an additional vehicles with the California’s Department of Motor Vehicles. The tech giant now has 66 cars driving autonomously in the state.

Apple is rumored to debut a high-power 18W USB-C compliant power adapter alongside new iPhone models later this year, but supply constraints might restrict the part to in-the-box bundles until 2019.

Apple has removed the entire “Doorbell” category from its roster of current and future HomeKit accessories, “suggesting that once-promised upgrades by August and Ring are at least in purgatory.”

Earlier this year, Apple obtained world rights to the Ed Sheeran documentary “Songwriter.” Now, Sheeran has announced on his Instagram that the film will be available exclusively on Apple Music beginning in August.
