Apple Daily Report: Apple’s refurbished online store gets a visual overhaul (and more news)

Since Steve and I can’t cover everything, at the end of each week day, we’ll offer this wrap-up of news items you should check out.

As noted by 9to5Mac, Apple has given its Certified Refurbished Online Store a visual overhaul. The new site design features larger images, easier navigation between various categories, and more. This new design seems to have gone live sometime this week.

Evernote has debuted a new dark mode for its note-taking application. Mac and iOS users can now switch between the standard UI (“Light”) and a new, darker Note UI (“Dark Mode”).

Switzerland is opening up an investigation into whether major banks colluded to fight off the threat of mobile payments services such as Apple Pay, according to Cult of Mac.

Wired has included the new MacBook Air and 15-inch MacBook Pro among “its 10 favorite laptops.”

As noted by AppleInsider, iPhone and iPad owners in the U.S. may soon see improvements to GPS accuracy and reliability, as the Federal Communications Commission has approved a request to grant consumer devices access to Europe’s Galileo Global Navigation Satellite System.

And they’re outta here. As noted by MacRumors, Apple’s AirPort Express, AirPort Extreme, and AirPort Time Capsule have disappeared from the company’s online store. The tech giant officially quit development of the products in April.
