Apple Daily Report: Apple registers new Macs and new iPads with the EEC, more

Now that my Apple World Today compadre, Steve Sande, is transforming his daily news update podcast into Tangible Tech, Yours Truly will offer an end-of-the-day text-and-graphics only update of various Apple news items. Because, hey, Steve and I can’t cover everything!

As noted by MacRumors, Apple has registered new tablets and Macs with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), indicating that refreshes could be on the horizon. The filings, uncovered by French website Consomac, are legally required for any devices with encryption sold in Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia.

Apple plans to set up an alliance with Hewlett Packard Enterprise to reach more suits in the corporate world, according to The Register. Similar arrangements are already up and running between the tech giant and IBM, Cisco, SAP, GE, and Deloitte. HP  is to be added to the list, a recruitment ad has indicated.

Intel won’t provide 5G modems for Apple’s 2020 mobile devices, according to internal company communications reviewed by Calcalist. Apple has notified Intel it would not use a mobile modem developed by the chipmaker in its next-generation mobile device, Intel executives said in the communication.

Taiwanese manufacturer Foxconn will assemble the majority of Apple’s widely rumored trio of new iPhones expected to launch in 2018, according to the Taipei Times, citing research from Fubon Securities.

Apple is helping to promote a new Design Verification Engineering training course designed to help graduates get jobs at Israeli tech firms and startups, by hosting a meetup for course candidates at its offices in Herzilya on July 16.

Apple has released the second public beta for iOS 12. Public betas are available on Apple’s Beta Software Program website. Just remember that beta software, so proceed with care.
