Apple Daily Report: Apple posts new iPhone Xr ads on its YouTube channel(and more news)

Since Steve and I can’t cover everything, at the end of each week day, we’ll offer this wrap-up of news items you should check out.

The iPhone Xr is available for pre-order today. To celebrate, Apple has posted the first ads for its smartphone on the company’s YouTube channel.

Speaking of the iPhone Xr, pre-orders started at 12:01 a.m. (Pacific Time). According to MacRumors, a half hour later, some colors began selling out and became unavailable for launch day delivery (Oct. 26) in the U.S.

Speaking of the iPhone Xr yet again, in a note to clients — as noted by AppleInsider — analyst Robert Cihra of Guggenheim Securities predicts it will sell better than the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. He adds that its cost could hurt the overall iPhone average selling price even while driving demand and fourth quarter revenue.

Apple CEO Tim Cook, in an interview with BuzzFeed News, went on the record for the first time to deny allegations in a Bloomberg article that the tech giant was the victim of a hardware-based attack carried out by the Chinese government. And he wants the publication to retract the claims.

Feral Interactive says Company of Heroes 2: Master Collection, the World War II real time strategy game, is available now from the Mac App Store. Developed by Relic Entertainment and published by SEGA on Windows, Company of Heroes 2: Master Collection contains the base game, its entire catalogue of DLC, and all three expansion packs: The Western Front Armies, Ardennes Assault and The British Forces.

Apple has secretly patched a bunch of high-severity bugs reported to it by Google’s Project Zero researchers. This has resulted in Google’s Project Zero once again calling Apple out for fixing iOS and macOS security flaws without documenting them in public security advisories, according to ZDNet.
