Apple considering an external Mac monitor that doubles as a smart home display

In his latest “Power On” newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says Apple is working on a new external display for the Mac that can double as a smart home display when it’s not being used.

He adds that the tech giant is working on follow-ups to the Pro Display XDR and Apple Studio Display. Gurman says the external monitor/smart home display will run on an iOS device processor. He doesn’t expect such a device to debut until 2024 at the earliest and Apple Studio Display.
