Analyst: upcoming iPad Pros will have USB-C, new MacBooks will add Touch ID

In a note to clients — as reported by MacRumors — analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is predicting that 2018 iPad Pros will have USB-C, upcoming MacBooks will have Touch ID, and the Apple Watch Series 4 will tout a ceramic back.

He thinks Apple will replace the Lightning port on the upcoming iPad Pros with USB-C connectors and throw an 18W power adapter in the box. Kuo also thinks the tablets will add Face ID, which was introduced with the iPhone X. The analyst adds that 2018 iPhone models will retain the Lightning connector and remain bundled with a 5W power adapter.

Kuo predicts the upcoming MacBook rev will add Touch ID support, but not a full Touch Bar as is found on some models of the MacBook Pro. Finally, as far as the Apple Watch Series 4 lineup is concerned, he believes all models will feature ceramic backs, whereas GPS-only Series 3 have composite backs. Kuo also believes Series 4 models will have electrocardiography (ECG/EKG) functionality.
