Analyst: Apple Watch Series 6 will be faster, have better water resistance, more

In a note to clients — as noted by MacRumors — analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says the Apple Watch Series 6 will offer faster performance, improved water resistance, and improved wireless transmission for potentially faster Wi-Fi and cellular speeds.

He predicts that all of these advancements will be made possible by the company’s switch to liquid crystal polymer or LCP material for the flexible circuit boards in the 2020 smartwatches. Series 5 models and earlier use a material known as polyimide or PI.

Chances the rumor is true, according to the Sellers Research Group (that’s me): 100%. Kuo’s prognostication makes sense as all of the benefits he lists are benefits Apple will certainly want to implement.
