14% of iPhone Owners Plan to Upgrade to iPhone 14, Up From 10% Last Year

A new survey from Savings.com suggests more people are planning to upgrade to the iPhone 14 than were planning to upgrade to the iPhone 13 last year.

The study — based on a (relatively) small sample size of 1,500 current iPhone users. —  shows that 14% of existing iPhone users plan to upgrade to the iPhone 14 this year. That’s up from 10% in the same survey prior to the iPhone 13 launch last year. Here are some more key points from the survey:

  • More than two in three people planning to upgrade have phones that are less than two years old, suggesting anticipation is being driven by those who usually swap their phones as soon as a newer model is available.
  • Faster processors (61%), improved storage capacity (54%), and a 48-megapixel camera (53%) were the most-anticipated features among those who said they planned to upgrade.
  • Eighty-six percent of people who do not plan to upgrade to the iPhone 14 say it’s simply because their current model still works well. Sixty percent said the cost turned them off.
